Showjumper and trainer, based in Lancashire, England

Nicky Jennings

Nicky Jennings is an experienced showjumper, having 'grown up' training and competing ponies at the highest levels, starting at the age of 10 with the colored pony, Lion King, whom she produced from a complete novice.

Nicky campaigned Lion King and stablemate Kilpike Lad on the junior circuit until 1997, winning a Gold Medal on the English team when Lion King was just 7 years old.

She represented England on two occasions and also competed both ponies in the 138 Championships at The Horse of the Year Show and The Royal International.

Nicky also brought out top ranked international ponies Cavalcade and Dreamtime Outlaw and one of her earliest successes on horses was the production of the top Grade A mare Cavalier Belle.

Throughout her time as a young rider, Nicky enjoyed numerous high profile wins and qualified for the Young Showjumper Championship at Olympia International in 2001, 2003 and 2004.

Now a senior rider, Nicky has continued to work with leading trainers and in one of her best Championship performances to date, rode the home produced 7 year old mare Sky Classic into second place in the 2004 National Foxhunter Championship, attracting much praise from other leading riders. Sky Classic went on to win the 2004 Irish Draught Showjumping Challenge.

In April 2009, Nicky, riding Sky Classic, became the British Amateur Champion at the British Open Show Jumping Championships.

Now established at her home base in Cumbria, with a new business, Nicky Jennings Competition Horses, producing horses and training riders.  She is also an Equestrian Instructor at Myerscough College in Lancashire. Nicky will compete horses for both owners and herself.
